A poem about loss and the struggle to find meaning in what had been there
How did you
not feel it?
It was so real.
So out of this world.
It felt so right,
so perfect.
Amazing.
With you,
nothing was wrong.
Our own little bubble,
our own little world.
And yet,
you popped it,
it came crashing down.
Broken.
You left me broken.
So lost.
Did I imagine it?
That feeling.
The feeling I got
laying next to you.
Was it all a lie?
A lie.
Thats what it was.
Love.
A lie.
Attached to my heart.
Broken.
Breaking at the seams.
Tearing it to shreds.
A tear.
Tears for that matter,
puddling on the ground.
Ground Zero.
My soul ruptured.
I cannot breathe,
I cannot feel.
What would be the point?
You're gone.
Not away,
but so much worse.
You're here,
but gone.
And me,
Where does that leave me?
Alone.
