Poem I wrote towards my feelings of my father.
I'm waiting in the shadows,
For you to be who you are supposed to be,
Expecting too much from you,
When you can never pull through,
Standing up for you,
When I know it's wrong.

Before the split,
You were my hero,
When you stood alone,
It showed your true colors,
Hooking up with someone barely known,
Without telling us or asking our permission.

You made the commitment of a lifetime,
By handing her a ring,
You said "I do" without us being present,
And exchanged your petty vows,
Neglecting our feelings,
And destroying our trust.

Why am I waiting in the shadows?
For you to be what i think you should be,
After all you put me through,
I deserve better,
So I've decided,
I'm not waiting anymore.
