A collection of poetry
Tattered Wings

Above the earth the angel flies,
Below his wings the children cry,
Tear drops fall now from the sky,
Upon the kids whoms hopes have died.

And yet his eyes do water still,
As he wonders why we kill,
Hopeless hearts with voids to fill,
Dieing dreams still unfulfilled.

And as he lands upon the plains,
The dead men now call him insane,
His wings are torn and he is maimed,
His hopes to help wash down the drain.

And now the angel cannot stand,
He has fallen by our hands,
Just as the servants of the damned,
We've slain the light that heals our land.

And again the children cry,
Upon the angel that has died,
And while we look beyond the sky,
Dumbly we still wonder why.

Deadly Nectar

The deceiver crawls like a snake on its belly
Below my feet, below my being

Yet the patterns on its back are beauty divine
Its eyes like the olives upon the vine

It slithers to my feet, bare and smelly
Flaunts its fangs, pearly white and deceiving

From them poison drops like a drum's steady beat
Its venom so sweet, and its all I can eat

Gawking over my untainted flesh
It wants to feed, and I want the best

Sinking its fangs far below my skin
Its poison like sin, and I'm letting it in

Sin and my innocence begin to mesh
My vein start to burn, and my morals detest

Venomous sin travels into my heart
It turns black and corrupt, and from God it now parts

Oceans Blood

Like the blood that gives life
Red roses are blooming
A sea of beauty
An ocean of times

One carefully plucked
Above all its beauty extends
Into gentle hands it is brought
Its petals so soft in my hands

Now its vines entangle me
Pumping life through my veins
Like canals of blood
Giving color to my plains

Yet its thorns cut my flesh
Blood drains down my skin
Feeding its vines
As my life starts to end

Yet they yield nothing back
Its water's my blood
Stealing my purpose
Giving me none

Blood grows into thorns
Veins constrict more
It violently holds me
I am its whore

Like a lion it roars
Scaring my soul
It's no longer mine
It's the roses to hold

With tears I calm it
Taming the vines
Relaxing its anger
Freeing my mind

I drop from its grip
Drink in clean air
Stand free of its vines
But the rose beckons my fear

It stands soaked in my blood
Drinks what is left
And it dies at my feet
Wishing me dead

Drops on a Drum

I see blood
blood beneath my skin
It's crawling out again
It's longing to be free
It tries so hard to breathe

I hear blood
blood beneath my skin
It's knocking at the door
Its beat I can't ignore
Its presence doth implore

I smell blood
blood beneath my skin
Its putrid scent won't end
Its perfume stabs my mind
Its smell is none but mine

I feel blood
blood beneath my skin
It gushes through at last
It trickles down my flesh
Its red stream soaks my hand

I see blood
dropping on the floor
A waterfall it forms
A puddle it creates
Now dirtied on the floor

Floating

A bridge is burning
We have to move fast
Carry your memories
Leave the past

If the burdens to bloated
Then drop your memories load
Let the memories float, let the memories float

Run cross the bridge
See what you now lack
Either turn your head now
Or long to go back

See the other side
See your memories fly
Like a birds last song
Watch memories die

You can't reach your memories
Your arms won't grow
Just watch the memories float, let the memories float

It's time to move forward
You can't cry a bridge
Don't carry dead memories
Just leave the ledge

Once in a blue moon, I'll return to this edge
I'll grasp a near memory, and smile again
Then let the frame fly, let it dance in the past
I'll watch the memories float, let the memories float.

Ashes in the Wind

A fire has started
A scorched leaf descends
The smoke slows its fall
But the flame reaches all

Its old home a torch
Its friend's decent ends
But fuel for a fire
Now ashes in the wind

The flames draw closer
Searing torment they send
As a fuse its stem lights
Soon it will end

Like light on a candle
Life and death blend
A firefly dancing
Till it's but ashes in the wind

The fire soon ceases
The leaf's fall did end
And the ashes sit idly
Waiting for the wind

Lost in the Rift

Love is the ocean, endless and deep
Some soak their feet, others swim deep

We harvest its life, we sell its fruit
Provoking its tide, bringing us doom

Its waters so vast, an endless abyss
Where one can get lost, and die in its rift

Its salty blue waters appear so sweet
Swarming with sharks, ready to feed

Their bites draw our blood, dye the water red
One love is lost, another is fed

Why did we bother to swim so deep?
Where there's no turning back, without tears in the sea

I'm sorry I swam so far from home
I'm hopelessly lost, and now I'm alone

I wish I could drown, here in the deep
But I see new eyes, blue as the sea

New tides to surf, new seas to search
I'm willfully lost, searching alone
