A Poem about my dad
I watch my Father he moves so slow
I watch I wait and feel the time go.
Inpatient I get and want him to hurry
He gets frustrated, I've caused him to worry
I move so fast and am in such a rush
I look at him closer my mind starts to hush
He cannot move quick he cannot think straight
He simply moves forward exclaiming "life's great"
He rarely complains, just keeps on his course
I feel like a fool, my intentions to force.
I can learn a lot from this old walker man.
He enjoys where he is, does the best that he can.
My life is so hurried and rushed and fast-paced
I miss all the beauty and joy of this place.
I should be more like my father this sickly old man
Not looking behind to see how far I ran.
Not looking ahead to see where I must go.
Love this pure moment so joyous and slow.
Time need not fly it can crawl it can creep
If we enjoy every instant before our big sleep
The past is a blur the future not real
These two from each moment our happiness steal
I implore you who read this or hear this to try
Live life to the fullest for soon you will die.
