A poem that again reflects false self in a metaphoric dream poem.
The mask

I
It is the shield
Concealing
Imposing

II
Its colors change
Frequently
In the eyes of its Audience

III
Pride is the it of one's own faults.

IV
See it in the mirror
Hallow
A somber tone fades
Over reality

V
It is the shell
That holds the embryo
Back

VI
All they doth carry it
An unconscious dictation upon an innocent soul

VII
With out wearing it we are conscious of the many more we hide beneath it

VIII
It is the stark veil
That drapes the heart
Steals purity

IX
It is a great beast
Devours men, king and country
No hand may touch it
No blade can pierce it
No eye will see it

X
It is the costume
That is warn to protect
False securities

XI
Blackest day turns
Blackest night
Where hath comes this inflicted blight

XII
It comes from the image
Quoth I say
That infects us all
In society today

XIII
It is the Mask
The hallow
Deep
Corrupting
