I wrote this during a bus ride to see my best friend in Vermont
Why not? She asked, honestly
It's one thing to imagine-
It's another to act

But regardless you may be missing out
On the opportunity you've been waiting for
A familiar face,
Another familiar dream

Two rows behind her
He sits
Like everyone else
We are all the same

But if we are all the same
Then why are some of us hesitant, skeptical, tentative
And others bold, audacious, valiant?

Regardless of our differences
We are all the same

So badly she wants to turn
And ask
This one simple action is far too difficult
Even for the bold, audacious, and valiant

Where did you get your beautiful brown eyes?
Another familiar dream
