This poem is about WW2
As the rain taps on her window pain
and the wind blows through the crack
she'll think of when they'll return to her
so she can embrace them with love
and adore them with oceans of scarlet, ivory, and navy

where they've been is long and cold
and some will never comeback
she'll always remember when they left in shades of green
and traveled forth shades of black

they left her ground proud and few
but reminds herself how she'll feel
when they return in shades of brown and blue

devastated as they leave
shes knows it will never end
strong she'll forever be
for them, backwards her back will bend
