Once again my name is not called. I pray it will be soon.
Darkness and loneliness fill my soul with pain
As I mumble and grumble in my cell once again.
I wait for the mailman to deliver to me,
As I wipe away tears that no one will see.
I pray so sincere with my up above,
"Dear God, please send me a letter of love.
I long to read upon pages so dear,
"We're with you always and forever so near."
Words are like diamonds on pages of gold,
A message from Heaven as your story is told.
"We love you. We miss you and pray you'll be free,"
These words I would cherish, if written to me.
Please bring me memories of joys I once knew,
of family and friends and things that we'd do.
But Darkness and pain of my cell still prevail,
as my name, once again was not called for mail.
