A free-form poem I came up with.
Placed into gory battle,
Soldiers walk to their death
Doom impending
But they are unrelenting

Placed into gory battle,
Soldiers fire at the enemy
Lethal flies buzzing through the air
Missing their necks by just a hair

Placed into gory battle,
Soldiers fight through dark hordes
Weapons ablaze with righteous fury
Fingers never weary

Placed into gory battle,
Soldiers are the ultimate peacemakers
Using fully automatic quills,
They sign their names in many a bill

Placed into gory combat,
Their signatures create uneasy peace
Scars of war when they return
All we can do is shower them with concern

Placed into gory battle,
Soldiers walk to their death
Doom impending
But they are unrelenting

(This ones for you, Caleb!)
