the lebanese civil war
Down to ashes and stones, we begin to look around,
carefully reassessing segments of our lives, to preserve all that is profound,
sitting in balconies and terraces trying too see what went wrong,
only to realize that all that can be found are gruesome war-torn sounds
what do we do? hopeless, lifeless, soulless, almost heartless
twitching at the moonlit sky, we are always guilty of abortiveness
history constantly repeating itself, future always hindered for a price
yet we never true realize that we have too much to sacrifice
peace in lebanon too lofty a goal,
please god remind us, where are our hearts
and

where is your soul?
