A poem about old flames and past relationships that refuse to be forgotten.
I blame those smothered flames for my wakeful nights
Spent amid the smoke, the red embers aglow
And even now that our fire is a dim sight,
I remember its light -- how it glittered so;
How the sparks flew; how our shadows danced with life
In the days before our love grew dark and cold.
