Marionette
by MM

When we let ourselves free from the puppeteer's strings
Whose marionette are we?

We are no more material when the essence has escaped

I challenge you to stare into these glazed eyes
Where has the soul gone?

The hanging man let it go with his last breath

There he is sleeping soundlessly
Is it too late for you to awaken him?

Try and give him a kiss, show him what he's worth

You can only try in vain
What is worth to a dead man?

Love and friendship are trivial things he's left behind

It's not too late to follow suit
Do you play the same set?

Don't wait to long, they say the feeling subsides

Maybe it's a farce,
Does the feeling only fester?

I say, perhaps you ought to nip the bud

You too should sell your soul
Will you find your lifelong friend?

Take the chance and see what you can find

Life's far too long
How long can you wait?

Take my advice and hang by the rope

By the fate of your hand, you're now the puppeteer of yourself
you hang just the same as he
Did you ever find your friend?
