just a poem
A porcelain doll with eyes inked out, that's how she looked
Hiding in shadows as if this thin blanket
would protect her from the world
A little girl lost in the body of a woman
begging to be found
She stared into the darkness as if waiting
for some long lost moment of happiness
to pierce the gloom she covered herself in
and lead her to the salvation the light provided
But sadness held her firm, binding her in
ropes woven from a thousand threads of
sorrow and fear, holding her tighter than a mothers
hug during a storm.
Tears of rain crawled down her reflection
as it looked back on her
Showing her all she thought she was:
A porcelain doll with eyes inked out
wrapped in a blanket of shadows
