We search for God in many places not realizing He is with us inside.
To the wayward heavens theses churches built
But hearts are filled with unending guilt.

Ornate, beautiful, so adorned
Yet the lost, the lonely barely mourned.

So much attention outward appearances maintained
Yet our strength our energy barely sustained.

We lift our praises to the heavens
But in return nothing's leaven.

We seek, we search no rock unturned
Yet deep in our heart a love is yearned.

I sit upon this rock so cold
The very innards of my soul untold.

I gaze around in search of He
Not realizing He is inside of me.

I've searched for Him upon a mountain high
Thinking I've found the life of Bri.

I've lead myself down many a false start
Only to find He's in my heart.

I walk along the path so many have before
All the same things, but somehow I have more.

It's not the clothes upon my back or the shoes on my feet
But the little child inside of me that I seek.

I have been searching so long against the tide
Not realizing that all long He's been inside.

This does not complete my journey, instead
It fills my heart, my soul and not just my head.

I needn't look further than my grasp
For I have found Him, the One, at last.
