Entry for the 100 word contest prompt concerning thunderstorms.
Even in this energetic storm, cars still sped on the overpass above the camp.  A brilliant flash of lightning lit indigo clouds.  Another echoed it further away.  The first figure stood by the edge, where water fell down in clear, glistening sheets.  Thunder shook the air like an airplane taking flight. 

"Oh, come on, Larry!"  Mer pleaded.  "Like diamonds from the sky!  At least look!" 

"What?  I'm not standing there, waiting for the wind to blow the water over me.  I've been cold and wet enough, thanks." 

"Those poor people living in their houses,"  Mer breathed.  "To be missing this."
