Okay revised as I intended. I truly hold this poem close to my heart.
Dawn rises and I hear him sing
That longing child is a staggering thing.
He waits for me to make my move,
but I am lost and have nothing good.

Still unclear where I let go,
perhaps as I came down this road?
The one without a sign or an end
the one where I met you my friend

You see stranger,
with a child I am one in the same
we are different in size but share a name.
I see now that is why he began to cry,
little me inside now knows why men die

One taste of the world and I was lost.
How is it I could let dreams become dry?
Learning to love I learned how to lose,
my lover has taught me the meaning of used.

I can not apologize, I have nothing to say
Little me inside has no hope left in me.
With the truth now behind me and all
that I've done, I fear my inner child is
another song unsung.
