Reflection of 09-11-01 and its effects and after effects
How many people took for granted their freedom and liberty?
The pursuit of happiness, the American feel of success.
How many people took for granted Americas' security,
To do as you wished without fear or distress?
How many people were proud of the red, white and blue
Revered by many and scorned by a few?
How many people took for granted that we were safe within our shores
Other countries and other places knew the ravages of war.
How may people took for granted that it was just another day
Never knowing that so many lives would be altered in such a horrific way.
How may people took for granted the love of our families and friends?
How many hearts are forever broken that time will never mend?
How many people will never be the same, never wanting either fortune or fame?
How many people will continue searching, seeking something to blame?
How many people saw two tall structures reduced to rubble and flame?
How many people no longer take for granted the freedoms at our command?
For in one tragic moment on one September day we became and eternally changed land.
