A sort of explanation... love, especially when you are young, can be confusing.
You say it's love,
but I'm not so sure,
unrequited or otherwise.
Such confessions make me laugh.
They say we are too young,
to know how to feel, to care,
and say once we have a few years,
under our belts,
we will understand.
It is not that we don't,
know our feelings,
but that we don't know,
each other, don't know,
ourselves. We are children,
that much is true,
but we won't be for much longer,
for we are growing,
changing and growing.
This change, this seemingly unending
metamorphosis is why we can't
make any sense out of what our mind,
heart and soul are saying.
The three are constantly fighting for the right,
the right to rule us, and we are fighting too,
for the right to rule ourselves.
So one part of you says today,
"I love him"
but what will you say,
when I ask you again,
tomorrow?
