I got a sunburned today and I'm not happy.
Today I got a sunburn
and trust me its not fun
when a shade of red you turn
and your skin is overdone.

I can't lift my arms over my head,
I look like a cheery tamatoe.
It hurts to lay on my back in bed
and even to put my shirt on.

My dad calls me the American Flag
because I'm red, white and dressed in blue.
He says I should have worn a paper bag
and I think he's being cruel.

I should've bathed in Coppertone,
now I'm swimming in Aloe Vera.
My well tanned sister laughs while I moan
and tells me next time be more careful.

I guess the message of my whining
is what you can plainly see.
Cover up when the sun is shining,
so you don't end up Southern fried like me.
