... understanding is a beautiful exchange.
Your petty games
hollow me
now.
In our decadence
Communication’s breaking down.
Your indecision's abrade-
indiscretions trample
my solace found.
Standing bound,
your pity has shone
splendid wealth-
only illuminating itself.

Once prepared to give it all…
As it is it seems I gave too much.

What lie’s passed what’s seen?
If obstinance
cultivates hypocrisy,
can we connect
and trust when Truth
alienates one from the other?

Yet, alone, I too lie...
Self loathing, guilt laden, and worn…

We kneel hoodwinked;
Two views obscured
Too quick to judge
To see this equal ignorance-
Crowned by hope but walled by fear,
We lose awareness
of habit and change
and pleasure and…
Pain sanctifies the moment by callusing the soul…
True divinity is only in apathy.

This pettiness
hallows me
now.
I’ve sought years
in vain for common ground
to drown again in solitude.
I turn anew desensitized
to derive some sanity
and face what is to come
By this path-
In this life
I am bound.

…understanding is a beautiful exchange.
