pokes at avid players of musical video games.
A simply awful poem, but I feel better writing it.  EDIT: Made some recommended changes, added a better ending. Thanks for reading!

The music of my years
You make it hurt my ears.

Playing at your game
Songs never quite the same.

Frantic button mashing -
My memories you're smashing!

Anthrax, Poison, Judas Priest -
horrid homages never cease.

Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Dead Kennedys
For this butchery there are no remedies.

But hark! A song played as 'twas writ -
Just a veteran player trying it.

Soon the rookie will return
And more melodies will burn.

Still, as the game continues on
I find I want to sing along!

Softly, at first, a bit off-key,
Now they're making fun of ME!
