Boom! Sounds like thunder.
I see the brilliant lightning.
I see its deadly flash.
I hear the booming thunder,
And the tree’s loud crash.

The thunder explodes up above
Like a thousand megatons
Of dynamite and a whole
Battalion firing shotguns.

The earth beneath my feet
Echoes the boom and trembles.
To the power of this storm,
Nothing else resembles.

In the darkest of night,
The sky was lit bright,
Illuminated by heaven’s fury
And the deadly bolts of light.

All the world was silent,
Cowering in the safety of home.
Not even the bravest creature,
Out in the open, dared to roam.

The thunder boomed.
The lightning cracked.
A fire burned,
Marking its fatal impact.

But, despite its might
And tremendous power,
The storm returns to nothing
More than a simple rain shower.

It had died away to nothing
Before it had even begun.
It came strong, then vanished,
Like the dying echo of a shotgun.
