A poem about a descreet relationship between her boy and the Dark Eyed Ghost.
Sunlight burns my eyes and I open them to the world,
Your scent is wrapped around me and I’m no longer myself.

A half smile while you sleep with your arm wrapped around me,
Brings the same expression to my lips and I kiss you.

A subtle twist of my hips and I’m sliding away from you,
Your taste still on my lips and your scent on my flesh.

I’ll remember you when the light burns, darling
But I’m only with you during the darkest hours when we can hide.

When you can hide from her and I can hide from him.
When we can pretend our lives are fairy tales and we’re matched.

A sweet murmur and I still my movements but you stay asleep.
The floor is cold against my bare souls and I tip toe away,

Pull my jeans on and leave them unzipped,
My tank top on and my hoodie thrown over my shoulder.

While you sleep I make sure I’ve left nothing of mine behind.
My vanilla chap stick, my cell phone, anything to show I was here.

I’m your dark eyed ghost and I have to remain that way.
Good night, darling … Or good morning.

Take a shower when you wake, you can’t go to her …
Smelling of me.
