the world is vivid, bold colors
beautiful and fascinating
forever swirling, distorting
         floating, floating
his mind is overwhelmed
at the mercy of curiosity
never here, never there
floating, just floating
bits and pieces grasped
but the larger picture has holes
that reality seeps through
