Loving someone who doesn't love you is hard to do.
The days go by, the minutes pass
your face covers the halls of my mind.
Not the way of a stalker, no
but of a lover for love to find.

I can see your warm smile,
I can feel your warm heart.
My heart builds up to pace,
like a track-runner eager to start.

Still, even when I am around you,
I'm in my own happy-ending fairy tale.
Then I realize that reality had hit me,
I notice how your face goes pale.

You chat to the others,
as if nothing is wrong.
You don't hear the low notes
of my heart's love song.

Eventually, the party breaks up
and you and I stand there alone.
I look into your eyes, smiling,
like a dog who has gotten his bone.

You respond with a quiet stare,
but I am lost in an everlasting trance.
I look at your deep blue eyes again,
realizing I have missed my chance.

I deeply stare at your quiet face.
Not the way of a stalker, no,
but of a lover for love to find.
I have finally decided to let go.
