a story of self reflection
I wanted to learn about myself from you
I saw my own wall in your harsh image of yourself
I wanted to see myself so I used you as a mirror
I couldn't predict this fall I've been taken into
I hate to say this part but I was using you
we look so much alike on the outside
I looked into you with reflection
I told you what I saw
that you are deeper than what you portray
not as bad or as fierce
as you would like us to perceive
what I said was in jest not meant to pierce
I didnt expect you to be honest
I would avoid responsibility
by saying it was the image you gave
of my own suspicion id then be guilty
it was your honesty which shattered my own facade
self reflection was the result
through shards of your broken mirror
I saw myself as I am
the results are profound
