I wrote this for my grandfather who passed away recently.
I feel you in my heart,
See you in my mind.
Yet my eyes cannot find you.

Your laughter fills my ears,
I smell you on the breeze.
But you do not answer my calls.

My good-byes were silent,
Did they reach you?
Can you hear my prayers now?

Where could you have gone?
Are you happy in this new place?
Happier than being here with me?

Do you see familiar faces?
Or do strangers surround you?
Are you frightened like I am?

You’ve waited so long for the reunion
Is she holding your hand now?
Why can’t I be there with you?

I wonder how long till I join you?
Will you watch over me till then?
Will you love me till then?
