A poem about a pillow
Sweet talks, slumbers, and where you lay to rest,
Battered and abused, I’ve been put to the test.
You cry your tears to my cotton shield,
Your painful stories you refuse to yield.
Dreams come hither whenever I’m around
& imaginations run wild never to be bound.
Underneath your head, I serve to protect,
A comforting grasp, no thoughts to neglect.
With no heart to love, I’m but a silent friend,
No words of advice, only an ear to lend.
I triumphed when you failed; made sure you stayed well,
I’ve been but your blanket, a security shell.
Tattered and torn, days fall into nights,
Soon I’ll be less than pretty in sight.
I get tossed aside, into a dark trashy place
& soon another pillow will be taking my place.
