A poem I wrote for someone I love who doesn't know I exist.
These walls I built
Were for my own protection
From the hurt of love
I thought I was invincible behind the walls
But then you happened to me.
I fell instantly
Harder than ever before
With no hope of getting up
Should I let you go
For your own sake?
Or should I hold you close
For mine?

You came into my life
Tearing down those walls of fear
Opening old scars
And causing me to pour crimson love
My heart aches for you
As these tears of pain make their way
Down my face,
I know that I can never rebuild those walls
You did too much damage.
