Fear of saying goodbye, afraid that it would be the jinx. How wrong I was.
Here I stand
With miles and miles of land
Between you and I
And before you die
As I cry
I’m telling you why
I never said goodbye
I didn’t want to be alone
Sitting by the phone
Waiting for your call
Even after hearing of your fall

I thought you wouldn’t go
If you didn’t know
My promise to our foe
So never say so
Here he comes now
To tell me how
It came to this
You’re the one I’ll miss

Now that you’re gone
I’ll give you my
Only tearful goodbye
