How love changes your world
Before you came into my lacklustre world,
All before me seemed dull and grey,
I held no hope for what lay in the future,
Tomorrow was just another day.

Then into my cold and colourless life,
Entered a beautiful blinding light,
You chased away my pain and fear,
And banished the darkness back into the night.

You scaled the walls around my heart,
My doubts you carelessly pushed aside,
Into a heart that lay in ashes,
Came a love that could not be defied.

I no longer dread what the future holds,
There is nothing to fear with you by my side,
My world once more is bright and fresh,
With you as my laughing, loving guide.

We have yet to share a simple touch,
Still I feel your hand like a brand on my skin,
Your lips softly brush the back of my neck,
And I shiver at the thought of giving in.

You're the last thought before I sleep at night,
And I long to dream of your lips upon mine,
When I wake I see your face in my mind,
More radiant than glorious summer sunshine.

I yearn to have you in my life,
Words fail to express the depth of my love,
I only know that my heart beats for you,
That you're a blessing sent to me from above.
