A love poem about learning to let go
Your celestial presence drifts up
Ownership, no one can gain
Understanding my place I drown, with no sense of pain

Forever longing to rise above the ocean's crest
Love's lust up wells a typhoon of passion's test
Oblivious to the rocks the sea obscures
Attached beyond help to your radiant light
To drift along, hidden by the night

Always I remain here, pulled by the sea
Bellowing words quieted by the oceans breeze
Outdated my body slowly decays
Virtuously your body drifts away
Enticing my soul as your glow recedes the day

When these tides begin to pull
Heaven reminds me I need to let go
I must sever the seaweed binds that hold me tight
Longing to be free of your heavenly sight
Emotions quenched as I sink, putting up no fight

In time I shall forget, yet your eyes will carry me forever

So sadly I watch you drift peacefully above
Interpersonally you radiate outwards love
Never faltering, like the sun in the sky
Knowing all too well you will never die

Buoyantly you float above
Enduring bliss, an unseen love
Longing for one last gaze
Obscuring dusk, you disappear behind the haze
While I sink to the bottom of the wave
