It's a new age holocaust and our protagonist is an apathetic mental patient with a secret.
"Run! Run like hell. Everyone here is doomed, doomed to slave for the rest of your worthless, pathetic lives." It boomed over the loud speakers into a sea of dirty, sick, pale prisoners. Men, women, and children begging for mercy. It's a gray day, hell it's a gray year. I stand my ground among the prisoners. People pissing & puking on each other. Strangers helping strangers, makes me sick. I'm no humanitarian. Hell, everyone here deserves this except me. Why did they take me? Sure, I was stuck in a cell at the state mental asylum, but I stood my ground.  I kept quiet. I sat & stared at the wall. Oh, the wall, my only friend. The faces, conversations, & hours of laughter. But, I never did anything to anyone. Hell, what am I saying? Did I really think it would last? But, I kept quiet. I stood my ground.
I kept their secret...
