Human nature....
Each day is a new chapter,
and the night is the segue to a new morning.
I saw the night, and the night is love,
abysmal darkness, infatuated love.
Pour me a drink, my darling, but not too much.
Not too much, I'd waste a song, such dreary love.
Laugh, don't cry. The darkness hides your misery.
The darkness is your misery.
But we become free, you and me. Such poetry.
I'll sing you a song, a lullaby,
and sleep to my tunes, such intricate melody.
I love you, this night, such horrible night.
The secrets it hides. The secrets they lie.
I love you, your secrets. I love you, your lies.
I am your tempest, I am your demise.
Poets do lie, but how they can fly.
Mere human, mere song.
I'm what you despise.
Sing, sing, sing! I love you, your song.
The stories we tell, the battles we quell!
I am your truth, inevitable lies.
A tug of war, a distance afar.
Back and forth, this drug of charm.
Love! Love! Love! You make me a lie!
I wish I could fly! I wish I could die!
Humans are sly, humans are why
the evil entrances, the evil denies!
Sing tales of gladness, sing tales that sigh!
A poet does lie! The poet must die!
I am the sky, indeed I cry! I am the truth,
and oh how it smiles, and how it beguiles!
The story is stale, such humans do fail!
This love is a fix, such horrible tricks!
Humanity wails! The shadow avails!
I am your wicked mind, human dysfunction you'll find.
