Condembed to God.

St. Jasper was a rich nobleman of Edessa. At his parents desire
he married, but escaped to a grotto near the city. He quickly
walled up the entrance, leaving only a small window through
which he recieved food. There he sang God's praises and implored
            mercy on all married men.

His wealth fell to his wife, who adorned the grotto with ornemental
pottery. Many husbands sought him for advise and consulation. .
After twenty years of innocence his wife brought him a daughter,
Trina. Saint Jasper praised God for this miracle.

He devoted himself to training her in perfection. At a tender age
she fell from grace and fled to Morocco, where she danced for
many wayward husbands. Saint Jasper broke his hermatage
and went in disguise to seek his lost sheep.

He was insulted, beaten and three times stripped. For three years
he pleaded with God, "Show her the joy of the desert and solitude!'
Trina recieved the gift of many tongues. It was said that her tongue
            could unlock many secrets.

A monkey brought him his daughters ring and led him to her. . ..
"Let us make good use of your talent in prayer." he implored his
daughter. She ordered the Saint locked in a hanging cage with her
monkeys, "You would have done better to keep your monkey in your
            hand."

Reflections: All men desire peace, but some must marry.
