A poem my sister wrote about our childhood
Ode to Hatchet Creek Hill

Running through the woods
on Hatchet Creek Hill
were the best times of my life,
and remain with me still.

In the creek we played,
and beside it we walked
up to the beautiful falls,
while our imaginations talked.

For us time was endless;
together we knew no fear.
We were always certain
guardian angels were near.

We built our own houses
in those magical woods--
streets made of straw,
our own neighborhood.

Those splendid days in the woods
on Hatchet Creek Hill
were the best times of my life,
and remain with me still.

Written by my sister, Peggy Hodge, who was my favorite playmate!
