What is sometimes overlooked.
Starting so small it's barely seen,
it will grow and begin to sprout;
the limbs will bud a color green
and slowly start fanning out.
They begin to touch each other,
then spread in every direction;
making nature's living cover
that becomes a tree's protection.
As time moves on, the green will fade
so nature can truly paint;
with their colors now displayed,
their lives grow very faint.
They fall so graceful from the trees,
you can hear them spin around;
dancing through the autumn breeze
making circles on the ground.
This will be my last chance
to see such a wonderful sight,
as they dance their last dance
soon buried under white.
Now I wait for the hint of spring
to see the color of green,
the beauty that bud will bring...
Starting so small it's barely seen.
