A poem about how our eyes have closen to the world around us.
The air around me twirls,
dancing with the leaves.
The sun's rays above me,
grazing on the sky.
A chatter coming from the trees,
some creature letting its presence known.
I take a step foward,
but it brings me two steps back.
People pass by,
not thinking about the world around them.
It couldn't be more obvious,
but they choose not open their eyes.
I chase after them,
trying to let them know about the beauty around them.
But the steps bring me backwards,
towards the darkness.
Like nature doesn't want those eyes to be opened.
I fight against the darkness,
letting my light shine.
One person stops,
and sees me for the first time.
She acknowlodges the nature,
and her eyes open.
My job is done.
