I wrote it while thinking about my sick mother
Oh Doctor!

Without her, I walk blindfolded.
Without her, I fall but can’t get up.
My loneliness, it has stabbed me,
my loneliness, it’s bleeding me.

I am drowning in this ocean of fear,
I scream but there is no one to hear.
In vain, I splash, kick and struggle,
in vain, for the waves own me now.

The stars have refused to light my way,
the wind has declined to carry my plea.
The clap of the thunder, it shakes me all over,
the storm of sorrows, will it ever subside?

Oh dear Doctor! I bring a patient to You,
oh dear Doctor! I beg You not to say no,
For to see her in pain strangles me,
For the patient means the world to me.

My mother, don’t close your eyes on me,
my mother, don’t let go off your hand on me.
Hold on for the Doctor has promised the cure,
Hold on for I need you to carry me through.
