This is the story of my heart...
My heart was a wasteland, desolate and bare,
My heart was a tundra, frozen with ice and snow,
A dark and foreboding cage, shrill with crows
Black and empty, there was nothing there

A heart born in darkness so long ago,
A heart cast’d with heartless steel
A heart formed by thoughtless hands
A heart that’s barren and hollow

The sun doesn’t shine and the moon never glows
The lake isn’t clear, the flowers are dead
The sky is starless and colder than lead
The birds never sing and the dark never goes

The door to my heart remained bolted shut
Bolted and locked with long, iron chains
Hiding the world outside from its pain,
My heart, so brutally torn and cut…

Hope had disappeared, faith had gone,
Trapped in this never ending hell
Encased in my own hardened shell,
Never going to see dawn…

Until you came…

The fen that was my heart then filled with life
The flame that melted away the icy cold
The silk that was your hand made my heart turn gold
The star that broke through sadness and strife

The world lit up, stars filled the sky,
My heart felt warm, beginning to mend
The darkness, slowly starting to end
I’m so happy now, trying not to cry

You saved me my guardian angel,
You saved a heart that nearly died
Please my love, please never leave my side…
