rambling thoughts about the fragility of humans
Glass.
Trapped in a world of glass.

People all around,
everywhere,
oblivious to the fragility that is.

Deluded in our invincibility,
we cannot see the trail of bloody footprints,
heels torn from the double edged nature that is humanity.

We hate, we rage,
the awful keening of scratched glass,
we are worn away to a powdered nothingness.

Foolishly we think ourselves hidden,
cowering behind masks and facades,
the gossamer threads of our disguise flail in the winds of truth.

Our true selves lie bare,
naked and shivering,
starved beneath the transparent layers of lies.

All around us,
cracks forming,
lives splintering,
shattering our fantasies and dreams.

Lying, bleeding in the jagged shards of what was,
we must turn inwards.

searching for the Truth,
reaching for the One,
for the constant light within and without,
for the glowing softness of
                                      love
                                      hope
                                      faith,

for the God in a world of glass.
