An old poem I wrote
"It's over" were the last words I heard.
I knew from that moment on,
was going to be different.
Now I know all the times you said
"I love you" were all lies.
You need to be reassured.
And when I look at you now,
You've changed in ways I can't explain.
You just don't act the same.
You're trying to hold something back,
But your not the one to blame.
Yes I know that things should be different,
But they don't always have to be.
I'm always going to be here for you,
No matter if you hate me or not.
We both have different feelings,
And different thoughts.
We were together for a while,
Forever we were told.
Forever is a very long time,
But the "love" we thought was strong.
But it soon faded away.
The story of our "love",
was not really love.
It was a non-existence feeling,
we just pictured and thought.
But now it's time for a friendship,
things are better this way,
you thought.
You have a fear but don't know what to do,
You and I both need to express the way we feel.
Even if we are apart.
Seeing new people might be smart,
so we can get off to a new start.
You can see it in my eyes,
read it on my face.
Trapped inside our lies,
of the past I can't replace.
The hurt I'm feeling now,
won't disappear over night.
But somehow, someway,
everything will turn out alright.
No more wishing for the past,
It wasn't meant to be.
It didn't seem to last,
So I have to set you free.
