For someone special.
It’s as if beauty as a thousand names.
Angelic faces with porcelain smiles,
Depicting subtle reverberations
Of exoteric happiness, delving deep
Into caskets built of our own fears.

“Let’s search together; uncover the secret.
Paint me a picture, let my emptiness be
Fulfilled, with the thought of your heart in mine.”

Silk roads cover our tracks;
For where we walk, no one may
Follow, with their eyes kept tightly shut
Against the harsh, but beautiful windstorm
That is the always active imagination.

Cowering behind our incessant needs,
We see what’s real, but deny the
Intricate artistry; the taste, the touch, the smell,
The vague hint of perfection, sprinkled
With unknowingness, tasteful to the very end.

It’s the road we follow that leads
Us to the many open doors, locked
With keys we’re still unable to find,
Yet when she smiles, it’s all worth it.

Glares from a thousand broken glasses,
Sharply piercing the unwounded flesh
Grimacing as we watch through closed eyes,
Ignorant to the feelings our hearts portray,
Sitting uncomfortably by burnt out fires.

Smile and sing for me, dear canary.
Your shrill voice is enough to wake the dead,
Yet it’s delicacy is one that cannot be slept without.

We’re all victims of ignorance, but
We only live once, so don’t be afraid
To back paddle through the crooked stream
That we’re always so eager to label.
