ME AND MY MOM ON THE PHONE
The Phone

Cell phone, telephone, whatever the case
That is our way to communicate
We see each other yet the words are not so easy-face to face
Why does the phone seem so secure, so safe for us
I grew up in the home you made so neat and clean for us
A home any child would love to live and grow up in
You did not work, you waited on our every need, yet
We are still at times like two strangers.
Did you carry me for nine plus months? Did I grow
Inside your womb? I want to feel that close to you but
We just can’t seem to get there, or are we? We talk everyday and yet
The words are empty. No real love comes out, have we gotten too
Used to each other and is that bad? Or is this what mom and daughters
Are suppose to be like? I do love you so very much and I hope that comes across
Over these lines of communication we use .
