Why do you write? These are the reasons I do. Come join me in the celebration of words.
I Write

I write to say what’s on my mind
without forgotten words, without regrets;
without empty silences
spoken words cannot express;
to be heard without interrupting.

I write to try on other lives;
Method acting in ink.
To walk another woman's path,
to understand, to feel, to share, I write
the words of the silent ones.

I write to cast the net of dreams.
Possibilities, once imagined, are often put away
for another day, when time stands still.
But it never will. Share now, what you have to offer.
Our words, like fish, can nourish man.

I write to give meaning to my mistakes
and give credence to my successes.
My words will live longer than my children, and theirs.
My love can be felt beyond the grave,
without the need for ghostly returns.

I will cast this net of life and love
and if you find my words are comfort, partake.
If not, pass on to other poets, other lives.  Somewhere,
you will find solace.  But return to me again one day.
Perhaps, then, my words will nourish your soul.

and you will give purpose to the words I write.
