A breakdown of the perfect marriage.
You stand there and look blankly back at me,
Either unaware or simply not caring either way.
Just how many distant footsteps,
Have fallen so silently between us?
The song on the radio,
Says you say it best when you say nothing at all.
How wrong each of those words are.
No words, no communications, no desires left between us,
So confused as where to go from here.
Wishing desperately it could all be different,
Wondering if we had made other choices,
Would our lives somehow be closer?
Could we speak instead of yell,
Would I want to stay instead of run?
So afraid of the end I feel so near,
Knowing that it is knocking on our door.
Not wanting to answer in the hopes,
That somehow things can be the way they were,
Once upon a fairytale time,
In a land that seems all too faraway now.
