All lives face a "Trickster" sometimes

Coyote trickster, spirit friend,
is it you who guides him,
do not cry for what you have lost
but give thanks for what you have.

First one way, and then another
Coyote dance he is your brother,
do you lead a broken path
or have you lost your footing?

Brother Coyote what is your dream,
food, or love, maybe peace,
yours is a strange dance around things
so hard I try to follow.

This way Coyote says,
but when I look he went another,
hiding now
will not save you from your troubles.

Watch out Coyote where you sit
did you forget you hid that cactus,
stealing hearts will not help you
it is your own you should follow.

See Coyote run across the desert
leading fools who hope to follow,
what were they seeking spirit friend
that makes you to laugh at them?

Just throw back your head brother Coyote
share your song with those who seek,
know that even as a friend
Coyote  walks in freedom.

Trickster, joker you may call him
still he is a sacred being,
always a friend you can trust,
the path Coyote walks is sometimes filled with sorrow!
