Everything that is wrong with the world
Lightening flashes across her eyes
As the sun shines brightly in the dark skies.
The demoralization of humanity falls all around her feet.
As she runs through the lies and killings in the street.
Everyday she screams as another innocent child dies.
Knowing no matter how loud they was,
No-one stopped to hear their cries.
She feels she has nothing to offer these people,
She stumbles as she pick’s up her pace trying to find sanctuary,
Up ahead she sees a steeple.
As she steps inside, she realizes it’s no better here.
She sees a little boy with blood on the back of his choir gown.
And she swipes at his single tear.
The priest guiltily sits alone to the side.
His hunger he can no longer hide.
She falls into the alley where a crack baby dies in the trash.
The mother stands two feet away re-selling her body for cash.
There is too much pain in this world
For her soul to bear.
She needs to feel young again without a single care.
But then she thinks she is better off in charge of her own fate.
Every child she sees has pain in their eyes and is full of hate.
Full of hate as they pull the trigger and shoot other children down.
As the body’s fall silently on the playground.
Their eyes go blind no more sound.
She knows this is not due to their own dark souls.
But due to what our God decided would be their role.
She studies the sky with remorse, and sorrow.
Wishing there was a different God for which she could borrow.
Lightening flashes across her eyes, as the sun shine brightly in the dark skies
