This is a short poem of lost love and friendship
My memory of you is as clear as it was years ago,

Talking to you brings about a child like glow.

Just seeing your picture arouses all the feelings of years past,

I thought i had put you aside, i did not expect my feelings to last.

We talk as casual friends, bringing up fun times here and there,

I am careful not to overstep, not wanting you to know how much i care.

You tell me of failed loves and of the emptiness in your heart,

Making me wish all the while, that we were not so far apart.

I want to be there to comfort you and tell you it all will work out,

I wish i could be the one to sit with you, while you pout.

When talking to me, you use terms that are so sweet and dear,

But i take it in casually, saying nothing, stuck in my fear.

You ask me for advise, asking me why you always seem to fail,,

And i reply, making sure every word is filtered by a fearfull veil.

I sit there hearing you say how you want someone in your life

You tell me that you are not looking for fun, but for a wife.

I tell you not to worry, as a friend, doing my part,

Knowing that you can not see the tears fall from my heart.
