Graveyards can seem ominous. Being lost in a graveyard at night can be very frightening!
I wandered down a grave yard path.
Daylight had started to fade.
A chilling wind decided to pass.
By each grave the tall grass swayed.

The light of the moon shone very bright.
Some clouds did pass its face.
From the darkness, bats gave me fright,
when past me they did race.

In the shadows, not far away,
the wind in the willow trees play.
Fallen leaves swirled around,
as they rose and fell from off the ground.

Faster beats my fearful heart.
My feet move swifter too.
Before my nerves fall apart,
I hope that I get through.

Footsteps start to chase me.
Who it is, I cannot say.
That ghoul I dare not see.
What is worst, I've lost my way.

Dropping behind a grave to hide,
I hear, a grieving moan.
Finding no specter by my side,
I discover I'm all alone.

The exit revealed by moonlight,
is less then six feet away.
I had learned my lesson, on this night.
I shall only cross graveyards by day.
